What is going on in my corner of the world...

Here it is September 1st and it has been a wild few months since I last posted.  We have been living through a pandemic and my husband and I have been in lock down since the beginning of March 2020.  This virus had just started and we decided with our health conditions that we should not take any chances and stay in.  By mid March the whole country was put on lock down and who would have thought it would have lasted this long.  I have kept myself busy with crocheting, knitting, and reading when I have felt like it.  I have been having some issues with pain in my legs and going to bed seems to relieve it--I am not one to take meds if I can help it.
Below, I will share a couple of pictures from our yard as of today and also pictures of things I have finished.  Our yard use to be beautiful but my husband is not able to do all that work anymore.

This shows a large section of pompous grass at the end of our deck.  Out in the yard is an old birdhouse that our grandson, Stephen, built when he was a little boy.  There is not a lot of it left but I don't have the heart to have someone to remove it.  There is a large bunch of Autumn clematis to the right of it and some tall yellow flowers at the house.

I took this picture from the corner of the deck, as you can see.  To the left is ivy growing out of old flower pots.  In the background is Rose of Sharon and some yellow flowers.  There is a bird church there, but it is covered up with the growth of flowers.  The birds really do enjoy that area.

Now on to pictures of what I have been working on.

This pattern is Whispers in the Wind Socks by Crazy Sock Lady Designs.  The yarn is Knit Pick's Stroll, Tonal, in the colorway, Seashell. I used a size 1 needle.

This is pattern College Girl Hat by Erin Harris. The yarn is Bernat Chunky and I used a size one needle.  I knit this for our granddaughter who is a senior at OSU  in Stillwater, OK.

I didn't use a pattern for these--I cast on 64 stitches and knitted a basic sock using Premier wool-free fingering weight yarn in the colorway, Vegas Lights and size one needle.

This is Ruffle Baby Vest by Kamgam. I knitted it using Hobbit Tivoli Print yarn in the colorway 102 using size 6 needles.

Simple Ridge & Eyelet Dishcloth by Lily Sugar'n Cream and Bernat Design Studio.
Hanging Dishtowel: Knit Hanging Kitchen Towels recipe by Dixie Schill

Thanks for stopping by.  Leave me a note please to let me know you were here.
Love, Marie

  1. Yes, the pandemic has put all of us in a tailspin. But it looks like you have made good use of your time. I tried once - many years ago - to knit a pair of socks. Never could master the heel part!
